2013 Camaro Changes

https://rumors.automobilemag.com/201...st-160295.html

Chevrolet will make a variety of changes to the Camaro sports car for the 2013 model year. The biggest changes concern the 426-hp Camaro SS, which gains electric power steering and a dual-mode exhaust for 2013.

Chevrolet already introduced electric, variable-assist power steering on the 580-hp Camaro ZL1, and now is expanding that to Camaro SS models. The company designed the system so that the ZL1 could provide more steering assist at low speeds, to help with maneuvering the big muscle car, while reducing the assist level at higher speeds to help increase steering feel and feedback. It was so successful that Chevrolet decided to also equip the system on the SS model. The Camaro V-6 sticks with its existing hydraulic power steering for now, but Chevrolet officials hint that it will probably receive the electric-assist setup in the future.

The dual-mode exhaust system was originally featured on the Chevrolet Corvette. At low speeds, vacuum-actuated baffles close to keep the exhaust quieter. That will make the Camaro SS quieter around town, while retaining the signature roar of the 6.2-liter V-8 under aggressive driving.

2013 Camaro models with a manual transmission now receive a hill-start assist feature and the same shift knob as in the Camaro ZL1. Camaro 1LT and 1SS models with an automatic transmission, meanwhile, now include remote engine starting as standard.

There are even more changes for the 2013 Camaro’s interior, starting with a new “frameless” rearview mirror that does away with the bulky plastic surrounding the Camaro’s previous mirror design. All but base models receive a new MyLink seven-inch touch-screen radio interface, which can also be upgraded with the Camaro’s first-ever navigation system.

Finally, Chevrolet has a new “Dusk Edition” trim package for the 2013 Camaro. Available for all models except the ZL1 and 1LE, Dusk Edition cars wear a new Blue Ray Metallic paint, coupled with new Mojave interior trim, and also wear 21 inch wheels. The new package is the only way a Camaro can be equipped with 21-inch wheels from the factory. Chevrolet released a teaser photo of the Dusk Edition model on Facebook last week.

Powertrain offerings are unchanged. The base 3.6-liter V-6 has 323 hp, while the 6.2-liter V-8 has 426 hp, and both engines can be equipped with six-speed manual or automatic transmissions.

Pricing for the 2013 Chevrolet Camaro has increased slightly compared to last year. The 2013 Camaro 1LS coupe starts at $24,245 (including a $900 destination charge), the Camaro 1LT coupe is $26,660, and the V-8-powered Camaro 1SS starts at $33,535. The 2013 Camaro 1LT convertible costs $31,560, and the 1SS convertible starts at $39,585.

Adding the Dusk Edition package to a Camaro costs $5995. The 2013 Camaro ZL1 coupe costs $55,250, while the ZL1 convertible is $60,445. Chevrolet also launched its new track-oriented 1LE package for the 2013 Camaro. It’s a $3500 option available only for Camaro SS coupes with manual transmissions.

CUONCRS will become famous soon enough
Everything sounds pretty good to me! Moving forward.

Nothing about changing to "usable" sun visors, though.

I do the same thing with military ID, too!

As for the changes, I'm liking the progression of the Camaro. Sounds like Chevrolet has been listening to some focus groups.
