Has anybody heard of after market body mods, to transform the 5th gen over to the dark side, Pontiac Firebird? Back when the concept was revealed there were all kinds of renditions of how a 5th gen Firebird and T/A would look. I've been toying with the idea, I'd prefer to wear an arrowhead over a bow tie. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind wearing a bow tie at all, I still do with my Blazer. Just like to keep it in the family.:)

I doubt they make stuff like that if there is no version of the Trans-Am, but what would be stopping you from taking off the Chevy badges and putting a Pontiac instead?

I wouldn't do that, even for loyalty to say Pontiac. That just screams ricer like the guys putting Type-R sitckers on their cars, or Mustangs putting cobra emblems on GTs and such. I mean I can sorta see it because you're not really putting badges of a higher performance than what you have (unlike the previous examples I mentioned where those badges do indeed portray a faster car than in reality), but I still don't think I would do it.

It's all GM anywho so bow tie it is.

I'm not sure exactly how it would be ricer if I'm thinking about the renderings that if6was9 is referring to:

I think I might be surprised and disappointed if a kit wasn't released by SOMEONE. It's not THAT complicated. A new nose cone and headlamps, fender inserts, a shaker hood, and a new rear bumper cover with tailights. It would probably be a $5K kit, but I wouldn't call it ricer...Hell, the GMPP body kit that you can order for the new Camaro is ricer IMO. That rear defuser with "exhaust" exits is absolutely disgusting IMO.

I definitely think it would look cool, I just think of ricers when I think of re-badging a car to something it is not, or to somethin that's not existant.

There's a difference between badging a standard Mustang as a GT or Shelby and replacing body panels on the new Camaro to MAKE a Trans Am.

I like that rendition of a modern 'Bird'. A quality kit would possibly boost sales of Camaros to those diehard Poncho fans.

IMO since both have had shared platforms and drive trains since '81, so what does it matter. Pontiac has more of a distinct look that I desire. I'm still POed GM won't even think of a limited production T/A. Yes Pontiac has the GTO, but it doesn't do anything for me. And I'm a ex '66 & '68 goat owner.

There was also a rendition of a Formula which I would go for. I never have liked the full hood Screamin' Chickin. A shaker hood would be nice if functional.
