The more performance options available the better.

the tvs's are renouned for quality and performance on the cobalt ss's. i would be ecstatic if one could be made for the v6's. that would make the v6 a beast like no other. count me in.

wow i can see what kind of crowd the v8 is going to attract...i hope this isnt as bad as when the tc balts were released and all the tools came around...just because we drive a v6 doesnt mean we shouldnt have our own performance parts made...the v8 isnt necessarily gods greatest gift and shouldnt be the only car that has performance parts made for it.....

The tvs on the cobalt jumped a 2.0 liter M62 supercharged car from 205 at the block to 298 at the wheels. That was just from swapping the M62 to the TVS R1320 and an ECU reflash. Considering it got over a 100hp gain on a 2 liter in-line 4 I think this supercharger will get a 3.6 liter V6 past a stock V8 and it will make the V6 a nice little surprise for V8 mustang owners :D
Just so you guys know, the email I got back from Harrop said that they already have 2 TVS setups ready for the LS3.

Cool.....good to know MagnaChargers aren't the only option for us.

Harrops are cool but last time I looked they were a bit pricy. Much more than the Magnachargers. I think a DI SC'd engine would make stupid power (for a V6). With the DI and a good tuner you should be able to get some good boost going to it. Hell if the SC 3.8 guys can see 500 I can definately see that or more.

true..but whats killing this thread is the v8 fanboi's saying we dont need power...just because it isnt a v8 doesnt mean it shouldnt be modded

what about the compression ratio?? I've been told that causes problems..?

compression ratio doesnt necessarily cause problems. its all dependant on your tuning(air fuel, spark etc...) and the amount of cfm or pressure you plan to add to it. i would say the biggest issue is what will the internal components handle before they bust, and being a gm high compression motor, id be willing to bet they can handle alot.

to give you an idea of the strength of the motors gm makes. the 2.4l le5 used as a powerplant on the delta/kappa platforms have been pushed to 450hp without any work. now that on a 4 cylinder...i would imagine the v6's are of comparable measure.

i have to agree.the cobalt was my starter car and it has been a great car. its not too bad sounding, but im wanting that next step up in size, quality, performance etc. and i think the camaro is my chance. i love the chevy name and the camaro legacy so i definately plan to have one within the next year

For those who get the v6 it would be great to have this option there. Maybe they are getting the v6 for $ reasons. During these bad economic times there may be many who want a new Camaro but can't afford a 30-35k v8 so go with the v6 for 23k. That is a lot of car for that price!

i would :)
My 2007 Grand Prix has a V6 and is supercharged ... and no not really very impressive. My gut tells me a supercharged V6 in a Camaro wouldn't be any better.

my gut says it's hungry... and that you need more boost.

there is a difference between a port injected v6 that is boosted with an m90 and a direct intected v6 that is boosted with an r series tvs. M series have a 60 degree twist with 3 splines on the two rotors. An R series has a 180 degree twist and 4 splines on the two rotors. The R series can push more CFMs at lower temperatures.
Also an LSJ engine with an M62 only gets 205hp while an LSJ with an R1320 has been able to reach 300hp at the wheels.
I think this setup would be quite different than your GTP Grand Prix with less horsepower with a supercharger (260) than the camaro will have naturally aspirated. (300)

I'm all for S/C V6, not everyone needs a V8 and a V8 is definitely not the only good engine for the camaro. I prefer a V8 --Of course I'm N/A-- but at the end of the day FAST IS FAST and I have respect for anything fast.

 Yes please!
I'd love either a SC V6 or SC V8. The V6 is definitely worth working on. I'm just torn between buying the V6 or V8, both are great motors for the Camaro.
