Those that have the upgraded system, what is your opinion on the sound. I know that when some people say it is terrible I would probabably find it just fine. I'm not a sound system junkie but do like to listen to a good stereo in the car on occassion. I also know that an aftermarket sub-woofer would make just about stock stereo sound better.
That being said I'm a little concerned that I'll need to budget in some money to upgrade the sound system. From what I've seen in a couple places the Camaro sound isn't as good as some of the other factory setups (like Chrysler, Acura, Lexus).
What is your opinion? Has anyone added sub-woofers yet or added more to the factory setup?

For a facotry sounds system, it's very very nice.
It can get pretty darn loud with very little distortion.
Great tone, good bass and trebles, and decent controls.
I too am curious about how the GM Subwoofer accessory sounds.
It's not gonna compare to an aftermarket setup though. No stock system ever will.

The factory sound system is great imo i am not sure about factory subwoofers for $1000+ i don't see spending that much on them.

I've got an old Kicker 600W amp and twin 12"s sitting on the shelf in my basement from my younger days. It's possible that I may look into hooking them back up if the system sounds flat....but I expect that it'll sound more than adequate for my ears now days, now that I don't feel the need to make the car next to me shake.

It has great mid-bass i really don't think you will need a subwoofer. It will vibrate my mirror and leg on deep bass notes

If I am going to spend money on my Camaro it will not be on a sound system upgrade. The sound is fine with me and I would rather put money in the other parts of the car.

I love my music and even more so -- loud music.... I believe the sound will be just fine. However, I am really beginning to believe that the darn stereo will NOT even be turned on -- after all, the only music I need to be hearing is the windows down and the rumbling of a LS3 eating up some asphalt! Thinking the stereo is null and void right now! LOL

The only sound system I'll be spending money on with this car is the Corsa Cat-Back I ordered, nice clean base there :D

i think nine speakers in that small of an interior is just fine also the extra weight of a subwoofer box is not needed

Well satified with the sound in my 2SS/RS. More than needed in that size cabin.

You better have some aftermarket exhaust or you wont be able to hear that LS3 under 4000 RPMs.

I'm not a huge audiphile, but I think it sounds really good, really enjoying it.

:agree: You're right about that!
I have no complaints about the stock system. I typically don't listen to the radio that much when I'm cruising anyway, but I think it sounds great.
