I would without a doubt go with Vararam over K&N. I have a beta-test unit for the SS and it ROCKS. You're going to get a lot more cold air with the Vararam.

FYI...That unit on ebay is the G8 unit...I'm not positive it's the same as the CamaroLT version...you should contact vararam directly to make sure before you buy. Those performance #'s in the ebay listing are for the G8, so I wouldn't expect them on the V6 Camaro.

YES. (I do have a tune as well)...but the difference is HUGE, especially at full throttle. I posted pix in this thread...

I know that G8 will NOT work with the Camaro. Vararam says the V6 will be out this fall as soon as they finish up the V8 the V6 will be polished up and sent to production.

Hello there, I come from another forum, (Cadillac) and I drive a different car, CTS Caddy. However, Camaro and CTS share engines.

I installed a CAI from D3 Cadillac ( http://www.d3cadillac.com/vehicles-CTS-08.php ), quite expensive for what it is ($450), but has K&N, looks excelent and has dyno figures that shows good HP gain.

http://www.101modifiedcars.com/modified-cars-pictures/cadillac/cadillac-cts/modified-cadillac-cts-2nd-generation-3-6-liter-llt-v6-engine-chrome-cold-air-intake-system-open-pod-kn-filter.jpg

Maybe, only maybe, it can be adapted to Camaro. D3 would love to help you, is my guess.

Gonzo.

Or you can just wait a little longer and get the vararam that WILL work on the Camaro.

It doesn't look as pretty:rolleyes:, but I like the design better...will get more cold air. I have a test unit on my car and it ROCKS. That said, their performance #'s are not out yet and they have not been involved in any comparison tests as of yet.

I'm going off the fact that the Vararam GTO intake gets 25-35 (I'm guessing one is LS1 other is LS2) more HP.

I'm trying to wait for Vararam but with each passing week the Airaid is looking nicer and nicer. I hate when you get the "Fall 09", then "December 09", next it'll be "Spring 10"...really bothers me. Airaid did it and now Vararams doing it.

:DI'll wait till april on vararam. If they do not have it ready by then, then I'll do airaid or someone elses. But I really like the way vararam's intake will clean up both sides of the engine compartment. And gives it a straight shot of cold air.

We'll have our new Camaro SS and V-6 cold air intake systems available at the Atlanta show for those planning to attend..

Attendees will be able to install the systems and race the cars to determine performance against competitors. R2C systems feature a patented tube design and filter media. No oiling or solvent cleaning is ever required. While fully washable, simply direct 40-60 PSI compressed air from the inside out and the filters are ready to go. R2C filters will last the life of the car and provide much better engine protection and efficiency while matching the gauze products for low restriction.

We can offer a group buy for the forum members once we become established as a vendor here.

I talked with Vararam today and they said the V-6 version wouldn't be available till January. I would suspect closer to March knowing how long it took for the V-8 to get to production.

What track is still open in Michigan? If that's the case, get a group together and the engineers will show up.

if the V6 intake is anything close to as impressive as the V8 intake, I'd say it's well worth the wait. ;);):thumbsup:

Forgot, if you see a eBay store offering a Vararam intake for the V6, it's bogus. The store is actually selling a Vararam for the G-8. They thought wrongly that it would work on the v6 Camaro.

They've been contacted by Vararam and asked to correct the info.
