Even though the playoffs are well under way, I just wanted to know who you guys want to see in the World Series. Also the post season is sponsored by Chevy so there have been a lot of commercials during it, there was also a Victory Red SS on display at the Angels stadium with the post season logo. So who do you guys and girls want? My pick is the Yankees

dodgers and angels in the world series will be a good match up or dodgers and yankees. but i tell you what i am a dodger fan but i know yankees already bought ther world series. you can see it in the umps.

I would like to see the Dodgers play the Yanks and have Torre back in NY for a few days. Now I know there have been bad calls, but bad calls happen and thats part of the game. Sometimes they go ur teams way, sometimes they dont. I would really like the replay to be part of the game on close calls, not on balls and strikes tho. Someone up in a box could look at the play in 10 sec and see what happened and make a final decision.
forgot to add.. The ump last night, Tim McClelland, did come out and say he blew the calls after seeing the replays

I don't really care much for baseball, but I'll root for the Philly's since they're the only PA team worth much.
A little off-topic: What other state can boast a pro baseball, football and hockey championship in one year?

yah replay should be used just like football if you think he made a bad call then throw the flag and challenge the call. some calls cost the game. angels are better then yankess IMO and i am a dodger fan.

The umps have been HORRIBLE...not an excuse, but as far as I can tell, no calls have directly made a difference in the outcome of a game (maybe in the twins game with the foulball that was really fair, but he ended up getting a hit anyway). Not really sure why Mike Scioscia didn't go nuts last night.
They should at least be able to replace umps in the series if they blow calls, not stick with the same crew the entire time.
Until last night, I thought the teams were more of less evenly matched. If the Angels defense didn't suck in game 1, things might be a lot different. BUT, I don't know how you can say the Angels are a better team at this point.

Had to do it
Although, it probably will be yankees and phillies :(
Also, umps are always right on balls and strikes, safes and outs ... unless MLB changes to replays so, the game will last longer while possibly making less fans out there. Why you ask, because I umped this year and took classes that taught from the MLB rule book.

He may have thought foul. It happens so quick and you don't have much time. Once foul ball hs been called, no matter what, it is foul.

yankee haters everywhere.
You have to admit, the call last night on 3rd base (both runners off the base tagged, only 1 was called out), was nuts. And the "tag-up" call, the ump admitted after that he wasn't looking at the runner. I don't know what they could do to make it better...any more replays will really slow down the game. I like the replays for HR's...but that's it. Maybe they should hire some younger umps

I was working but yeah, mistakes can happen but you are not suppose to say I should have called him ___ instead of ___. I umped one year and I'm done. To me, $20-25 not all worth it for adults giving people a hard time. I want I really gained from it is respect for umps.
Also, umps make the strike zone, not the what idea zone.

I'm sure it's a rough job...especially in little leagues/high school. I'm sure lots of parents/coaches are morons.
I have no problem with umps messing up calls (especially balls-strikes)...it happens, they are human so it'll never be perfect. BUT...they should always make sure they are in the correct position to make a call, and if they blow it, another ump on the field should correct it if possible.

Well, they teach not to do that. I forgot that the reasoning but I think it is for backing up your "teammate"

All the teams that are left suck donkey nads. I've always hated the Yankees, the Angels are good but can't seem to keep the basics in front of them on big plays, and the Dodgers are streaky and hitting their off cycle now. The Phillys are only taking advantage of that and aren't as strong as they were last year. Only clear favorite is the Yankees.
With that said, I have predicted a "who really cares" World Series between the Yankees and Phils.
The winner of that will be the Yankees. Phillies don't have enough stuff in the tank to take on the Yankees IMO.
Yankees should hire Dolf Lundgren to post up on their big screen to whomever they face saying in his Ivan Drago get-up: "You will lose!"

Even if the Yankees win the World Series, Joe Torre was/is still a better manager.

I agree with you on that, but I like Girardi cuz he has history with the team. It wasnt right that Steinbrenner basically ran Torre out of NY. It was pretty much a dis with the contract they attempted to re-sign him with.
Well it looks like the Phils are in so we will see if the Yanks can wrap things up a little later

the Angels (90-62) haven't lost a season series to the Yankees since 2003 and are 18-7 against the Yankees at Angel Stadium in the past five years. The Angels also ousted the Yankees from the playoffs in 2002 and 2005.
this is before the series started . angels a better team period. and yes i am a yankee hater and always will be. i told my friend when the post season started the mlb will never let angles & dodgers be in the world series and i know the yankees will win it all they are the ones that send the most money.

whats 90-62? The last reg season 3 gm series they played in sept. Yanks took 2 of 3, so they won that series... The past is the past, both teams have a lot of new players now. Even if the Yankees go down in this game theres at least one more in NY. Everyone knows the Yankees are not afraid to spend, and if it was that easy to pay people off why havent they won a world series in 9 years? Thats an eternity for Steinbrenner

don't hate the yankee haters, they are amusing...they use their own "anti-yankee-math", come up with video that seems to "prove" Mariano cheats, and never stop complaining that they spend so much money...but seem to ignore the fact that the core of the team since 1995 has been home grown players. The fact is that every team could spent tons of money on players instead of pocketing it...but they don't.

History and regular season records don't mean squat. By that standard, the Dodgers should have been handed their azz from the Cardinals because they were OWNED by St. Louis during the regular season regardless where they played. But they swept and then got stung by the Phillies. They surely didn't bring their A-game against the Phils.
Yankees will own the Angels in this playoff. This will ring true. Watch and see. And I don't even like the Yankees. But they're rolling right now.

very true the money is supposed to be put back into the team not in thier pockets GO BOMBERS!!!! the core and a lot of contributors were home grown too Bohringer Belanger Andy fox and Paul oniel was traded for roberto kelly and now Hughes/Joba/Robertson/Aceves/Cervelli/Pena they spend but they spent wisely and built great depth in thier organization. Look at the lack of depth the Mets had and look at thier season. The Yanks made great moves across the board in the last few years
