Yahoo Sports is reporting NASCAR is looking at take the Busch series to smaller models of cars in order to make more difference between it and Cup, and to hopefully reduce the number of Cup drivers entering Busch races.
So they're talking to the manufacturers about Camaro, Mustang, Challenger, etc. Busch series bodies, smaller and lighter than the full size Cup Cars.

i doubt that it will happen. they will be smaller and have the same amount of hp... then they will be faster then nascars. and if they drop the hp enough to be slower. then they will be down around 550 or so. thats nothing too extreme from what some camaros could be at. and not a giant stretch. i would be cool. like the iroc series was awesome becasue it was all driver.
we will see

Remember, Busch cars are true race cars. Even if hp rating were dropped you would still have a car that has proper aero, suspension, weight & tire packages. Even if a stock, factory Camaro would put out 500 hp or even closer to Busch hp ratings the race set up would way out perform the factory car on the track. :D

id like to see that, never really understood why they used sedans rather than sports cars for racing

that would be cool. would also be cool if the bodies are not carbon copies like in Cup. i think the reason for the larger cars is in the size. they have the tires spread out more than a smaller car. bigger wheelbase usually means more stability. hell, they used to to use bigass cars for drag racing(but idk why there)

If it happens then I would be more tempted to watch the Busch series then Nextel.

Actually I think forming a new series independent from NASCAR would be the ticket.
Although if NASCAR had brains, they would develop it themselves.

What if it went to both?

I'd like to see SCCA revive the Trans Am series personally, but with production based cars. I guess that's what the SCCA World Challenge is now though....

Wouldn't have to worry about that b/c it will never happen. lol But if it did, then I would seriously be in debt b/c I would probably start wanting to attend races every weekend. :(
