Alright Jinx, how are you not making *** tons of money doing this stuff? The photoshops I've seen in car magazines of what the SS "will" look like mostly look like crap.

Anyway, AGAIN, awesome as always Jinx! :D

Jinx, once again you've outdone yourself. Given the retro trend of our society, I wouldn't be surprised if they did a remake of GhostBusters. Your ECTO 1 SRT would be the ride of choice. Great job as always, bud!http://www.lxforums.com/board/images/smilies/notworthy.gif

I wish I could do work for magazines, write articles, and do reviews.

I love doing it, but no one pays a guy without a degree on the wall. The guy who done the chessy SS photoshops for all the car mags prolly not like guys like me without a degree.

Ive just worked at and learned on one type of media at a time until I get a quality product.

But yeah, I think a Ghostbusters remake or continuation of the original would be good.

My idea:

- Will Ferrell (tin-fold hat amataur investigator hired on as a Ghostbuster)
- Chris Kattan (Loser intern of Stephen Colbert, becomes Ghostbuster)
- Stephen Colbert (Paranormal research specialist hired on as a Ghostbuster)
- Tracy Morgan (new hire, grew up wanting to be a Ghostbuster)
- Bill Murray (co-owner of Ghostbusters Inc)
- Dan Alkroyd (co-owner of Ghostbusters Inc)
- Tina Fey (new Secretary)

Plot: Ghostbusters Inc has grow into a respectable business, but still very contraversal and small. Murray and Alkroyd wants to move into a more of a management position; so they hired replacements. They have tryouts and a funny drills. They hired the new guys and the business starts to boom becuase they can meet the demand of the clients.

Hey, you never know! My boyfriend is the chief designer for a website ranked in the top 400, and he doesn't have a degree either (he is 2 credits away from finishing his degree in cinematography). If you are talented (which you are), there are plenty of places that don't require a degree. Its more likely that they would be smaller companies/magazines/newspapers, or even an automotive blog.

I love your idea for Ghostbusters... except Tina Fey. A good "unknown" would be nice. I'm pretty sure Stephen Colbert as a ghostbuster would be the best thing since chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream :D

I was thinking tina fey as a small part, she has the look of the original girl but the name escapes me. If not her the woman who plays on Mad TV and does the voice for Lois on Family Guy.

Well everywhere I go they want a reference to a previous graphic design occupation. I guess self teaching and doin it as a hobby doesnt cut it. I trying to do it solo for now, but I end up doing favors. And when the subject of money comes up, they no longer want the product.

Thanks for the love though. Maybe I get some luck; but thats an oxi-moron in my case. Jinx isnt just my screenname. I answer to Jinx, on and off line. lol.

Jinx, two things:

Annie Potts was the actress who played Janine which was the secretary (broke out the VHS tapes for that one) and Alex Borstein is the madtv/lois from family guy.

regarding "experience" easy way around that. have octane say he paid you to do some concepts for the camaro for the site. say he found you through craigslist or some shizzle. thats a easy way to show off your work, and still have an alibi for the creation :)

and when you can utilize photoshop + 5thgen = ftw always

Jinx, Do you place water marks or any type of marks so nobody can highjack, (steal) your work?

I've noticed other sites copying pictures from this site and slapping their site name all over it.

I'm no lawyer, is your work protected like the Earnhardt Sr 5thGen Camaro you designed?

Your work is "Outstanding", and somebody somewhere will take notice.

Remake..nope Bill Murray holds the rights to Ghostbusters and he has said no to a remake or reunion..

But there is a GB3 CGI that might be in the works..either as a movie or a videogame..

Interesting...I didn't know about Bill Murray owning the rights.

Actually I do it on some. I prolly should do them on all. The problem is that the work is of GM products which I dont have license to, so in turn I cant receive a profit (unless someone can correct me, in which it would be nice if they did); so I stop watermarking pictures to save the grief of people complaining that it interferes with the pictures. If I just watermark the bottom, it could be cropped out. So when I do watermark I use my logo with heavy transparency.

I monitor most other forums, blogs, and mags. Thus far my work hasnt been stolen. As for the Earnhardt Edition Rendering, I dont have any say, rights, or agreement to make a concept rendering of that car. So basically all I got is a personal opinion on what I think it should look like and the ability to display my ideas for the community to see. Again, I wish was employed to do this type of work.

I like making the members of this board happy with photoshops. We only have the picture that are given to us. We didnt get official american release pics of the SS (or its variations); so I wanted to do my best to do the next best thing (and not disappoint like magazine renderings).

In all honesty I wanted (and still wish I could) to work as an automotive designer. GM Concept Design would be my dream job.

I actually wanted to work as a GM concept designer as well, but common sense took hold. I think you have a much better skillset though, at that time I was drawing everything free hand, which is cool and all, but not a very quick process. I basically did custom drawings of friends' cars. A friend of my dad's who's a automotive painted, painted my cowl hood in exchange for a concept drawing of his '62 impala exterior/interior.

I actually designed a new GTO with retro styling before the Challenger and Camaro concepts came out, then they came out and I'm not going to lie I was a little annoyed because there was definitely some similar stylings.

Keep trying though, you do some very impressive stuff.

I used to design cars when I was a kid. I even made up new models, and took over the entire design of Studebaker from 1966-1980! Silly huh? I have all those old drawings in the basement somewhere. I'd like to see your drawings. I designed my idea for the new Silverado a few years ago, and I was damned close in my drawing to what turned out as the 2007 model!

I don't have access to all of my drawings right now because I just got a new computer and haven't gotten them all transferred yet (the old computer is on its last leg). I posted a few. I will note that the "Retro GTO" was an early attempt with photoshop and needs some proportion fixing.

I would like to see your drawings as well. I always enjoy seeing other people's work.
