Should I Sell my SS now to Save for a ZL1???

I was determined to get the SS when it first showed up at dealers in 2009, and i am determined to get the ZL1 when it comes out next year.

Like most, i can't simply go to a dealership and just write a check for one, and i am willing to give up my SS so i can have a ZL1.

I'm not interested in adding aftermarket parts to my SS to make it "faster" than a ZL1... i've started to lean more towards not doing so much aftermarket work on a depreciable asset, especially when collector cars sell for more 40 years down the road when they are 100% original vs. modded. and i have a feeling there will not be so many ZL1's made due to the price tag and CAFE requirements in the future.

So what would YOU do?
1 - cut your losses, sell the car now before it goes down in value even more, save the monthly payments you would be paying for an even bigger down payment on a ZL1
2 - keep the SS until the ZL1 comes out, trade it in once my ordered ZL1 is delivered.
3 - keep the SS and don't do anything.

i've thought about taking the headers and intake off the SS so i can put them on the ZL1, but like i said earlier, i might want to keep this next one 100% stock; and the SS might sell faster and for a little more if sold privately with the stuff already on it.

If your 100% set on a ZL1, wont hurt to put some feelers out...see if you can find a buyer now...if it takes a while, you can enjoy your car a little longer.

Redjewel deep inside you want a vette you know you do I have read several times where you keep mentioning it.
If you want a car to Mod imo then dont get the ZL1 why buy a car that expensive and void the warranty ? Its promised HP already with a warranty
IF you want a fast car with a warranty along with a badge name that may be worth something years to come Sure why not

imo I wouldnt trade the SS in on anything. If you are going to get a ZL1 sell the SS straight out. Reintall the factory stuff if you have it as much as you can and part out the car then sell it for what it is. Selling a modded car wont be easy and will probably chase someone away.

IF you do get a ZL1 The only thing I would install off your SS on the ZL1 because its an easy bolt on would be that Adm Race CAI otherwise keep everything else stock on that bad boy and run with it.

I think you know what you really want. You probably have a few things besides cars that you would like and you are asking yourself hmmmmm should I do this ? or just do this ?

keep the SS. i dont think you can go without touching the ZL1. the ZL1 would be a car, that i wouldnt mess with anything on it. no suspension upgrades, brakes, motor, exterior...nothing. i wouldnt even put the heritage grill on, like you said before. im holding out for the Z28, but im gonna pay off the ss and keep it.

My Grand Sport is priced what a ZL1 would be.....

As much as I like the ZL1 - there is a time and place for everything..... when compared, I lean Grand Sport every time.
