Livernois Motorsports 2013 ZL1 Build!

The start of another ZL1 build! This time we have a beautiful red 2013 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 in for some head, cam, and other parts.

Getting the inter cooler off, next will be the supercharger as we make our way down to the stock heads.

Stock heads are coming off today. Making way for the Livernois Motorsports Stage 2 Powerstorm heads.

The stock heads will be carted off to the Cylinder Head Department for cleaning and inspection, then make their way to CNC for some porting. Finally, they will be back in the Cylinder Head Department for final inspection and assembly before they are bolted onto the car.

The engine will be cleaned at this time with some major components exposed.

While the heads are off and the engine torn down, putting in the new Livernois Motorsports 2C - High Lift cam will be a breeze.

First, removal of the timing cover followed by the timing chain.

The stock cam will be able to come out easily.

Then, after applying some assembly lube, your new Livernois Motorsports Powerstorm cam will slide right in!

The new balancer has made it on. We are upgrading for a couple reasons,

One - more boost. The larger overdrive pully will allow us to run more boost by utilizing a Livernois Motorsports 2.55 supercharger pully.

Two - better dampening which reduces the harmonics created by the motor at higher RPM's

Heads have made it to the CNC department. Within our 36,000 square foot facility, we utilize 6 different CNC machines for many different jobs.

While the heads are in the CNC department, we can move to our Firestorm Dual Fuel Pump Kit.

Our Firestrom pump is a complete drop-in dual fuel pump assembly for 2010-2015 Chevrolet Camaro. It installs directly into the OEM fuel tank assembled using 100% all GM designed pumps requiring no cutting or splicing of wires to deteriorate over time. This high volume unit will give you years of service and will support up to 800HP!

First you will need to drop the fuel tank for access to the top of the factory fuel pump.

Make sure, if there is still fuel in the tank, to remove as much needed to not spill out when removing the pump.

Once the tank has been drained, remove the lock ring to pop up the factory pump. Remove the rest of the plugs and pull the stock pump out. Make sure to dump any gas that is still in the factory pump.

Now that the stock fuel pump is out, we will be installing the Firestorm Dual Fuel Pump.

Below is a photo of the stock (left) pump vs. the Firestorm Dual Fuel Pump (right). The major difference is we were able to pack 2 fuel pumps into 1 system that still fits in the stock location with no modifications. This allows for 2x the stock flow! We have also adapted the fuel entry to factory size with our custom adapter.

The new Firestorm Dual Fuel Pump will re-install in the factory location, utilizing the factory locking clamp.

After the Firestorm Dual Fuel Pump is locked in place, reconnect the factory lines and re bolt the gas tank. It's that easy!
