Oracle P13W Plasma DRL lamps

I recently purchased these bulbs and the wiring adapter that allows the DRLs to remain on with the headlights and was wondering if anyone out there had the same installation experience I have - at least so far. The bulbs will not fully seat in the DRL socket. The bulb pushes in (it's keyed so it only goes in one way) but it it stops short of the locking tab. I removed it and put the stock bulb back in a few times to see if I was doing anything wrong but, like I said, it's keyed. As for the wiring harness, the provided T-taps did not pierce the wire insulation so, no electrical contact. I called my AAC sales rep and all he said about the bulbs was "that's just how they are" (WTF...????). I told him that I was worried about the bulb vibrating out over time since the locking tab was not engaged and he said they wouldn't. As for the T-taps, he said "well, you might need to strip back the insulation a little first." That makes no sense to me as this is exactly what the purpose of the T-tap is. So, I am now trying to figure out where to go next. Something this simple should not be this complicated.
