2012 V6 comparison – so much for headers?

As reported here: 2012 V6 comparison – so much for headers? – Your #1 Camaro Information Source

Interesting differences between the 2011 and 2012 V6 Camaro engines, besides the HP gains on the 2012…. Take a look at the three cylinders each having their own exit on the engine into the exhaust manifold.

You’ll note the 2012 only has one exit, centrally located. For this reason, 2010-2011 headers will not work…and makes you wonder if anything can be done to the 2012 exhaust coming out of the engine… We can ALMOST call it a DOWNPIPE now

IMO Time to do some head porting to hog it out some. I'm sure somebody will find a better flowing "downpipe" X2.

NO headers, really?? I have always put headers on all my cars. Can't imagine owning a Camaro that I couldn't have headers.

Yeah it was released months ago that the 2012 V6 will have integrated headers.

id still rather have an LLT motor since long tube header upgrade will get you more than what the increased hp is with the LFX motor

I may be in the minority, but the only V6 cars I've thought sounded good with modified exhaust are the 1987 Buick GN and 1989 Trans Am Turbo Pace Cars

I hear you can also get a better sound if you port your exhaust ports.

And here I thought this horse was dead.

You CAN bolt a turbo DIRECTLY to the head.
