Obx tsp or stainless power will run you under 800$ shipped which would leave you 700$ for a catback which is more than enough. Doug thorely catback= 499$ from southwest speed with plenty of vids. Flowmaster American thunder 569$ shipped via amazon, if you want to break your budget my about 100$ you could do any of the headers above married up with a stainless works catback or magnaflow.

Your budget is more then enough. also headers and catbacks are probably one of the easiest mods on these cars. There is no figuring out where things go, it's straight forward. Probably could install both if you are at all mechanically inclined in under 4 hours and that's with beer

Thanks, you've helped alot! I like the idea of cooler so i'll start hunting down some ceramics. I'll try to install them myself. I have a friend who knows a guy with a shop and lift so we'll see how that works. Thanks again!

The beer is a must! I'm gonna try to do it myself. I'll probably go with American Racing headers, just trying to find the best kind for what i want (deep low tone).

Then, if you dont like that sound...try a different muffler. You wont need bigger piping because you already have 2.5", which is enough for 600hp+
Bigger tubes really wont affect sound any.
You can get headers as cheap as $399 all the way up. Stainless Works, Kooks, ARH are popular (and pricey).......others, such as OBX, Stainless Works Stainless Power and TSP have lesser priced quality headers.
304 stainless is the way to go........the extra mile is getting them coated, which claimes to keep the heat in the header and not in the engine compartment.
For the big name headers....$1500 will prob only get you catted headers.....for the off brands, you could prolly do it all for the money.
I got catted OBX stainless for $569......may be made in China, but **** nice product. Easiest install I've ever had.
Good luck.
If i take the pipe out of the picture, that makes things much easier! Thanks!

I have the Borla cat backs myself and the Doug Thorley ceramic shorty headers. I like the headers since they are a factory replacement meaning I don't throw codes and the engine stays in warranty. Long tube headers are as the name implies long so you can't do a replacement without modifying the rest of the exhaust. They will more than likely require a tune which will void the engine warranty if that's a concern. The Borlas have drone if you have an automatic. I'm living with mine but will eventually tune it out when I start doing engine work. I did the replacement on my car without having a lift and by myself. Not hard at all. The shorties went in from the top. Shop around online for the best price and free shipping. Cat-backs are bolted connections easy to do since they are small light pieces. The hardest part is removing the old system. One unit weighting over 100lbs. I used floor jacks to drop it to hand dollies. You have to do some cutting with axle backs so that would probably go to a shop. my2
