LS3 Catch Can Installation

Hey Guys, still a pretty new member here and I've done some searches on the subject about catch cans. I hope this subject hasn't been beaten to death...but it's still a little unclear on how to actually install one on the drivers side. Does anyone have any pointers? I haven't ordered one yet....but I'll probably just order the RX Performance Catch Can. Any additional information is appreciated! Absolutely love these cars!

Ya, your correct. There are a million conversations regarding the catch can. Not sure if I am explaining it correctly but; due to smog constraints, manufactures had to design a way to return oil that used to burn off out the exhaust. Problem... turns out it's not just oil smoke but oil.... Oil pumping into the plenum (what used to be the manifold). Folk's that were braking down motors to add a cam or other internal motor items saw all this raw oil throughout the top end. The fix, you got it. The catch can.
Think of it as an inline filter that keeps the oil and the air continues through the motor. Motor Head's are happy and the tree hugger's are too!
Speaking from experience, "THEY TOTALLY DO WORK". I'm sure if you went to youtube you could see the inside of a motor without it. Not pretty. I'm sure there are pix on this site showing it as well.
I'll add a photo of the one I installed. Easy add on...

To me....a catch can is "a must".....I've seen several video's of people draining their catch cans....and I can't believe that much oil is actually recircullated back into the top end of the engine. Can't be good for it. Anyone have any installs of the catch can on the drivers side vs. the passenger side?

You would think the smog folks would have frowned upon that...

One catch can from Elite Engineering on its way! Was going to go with the RX....but I would rather just unscrew the bottom and dump it....can't really go wrong with either can though!

BTW CPOBOATS, I'm diggin' your fuel rail/coil pack covers. Where'd you get'em?

He's the link...
2010 2011 2012 2013 Camaro Underhood Appearance

Besides giving the motor a little ol' school look (valve covers) It seems to run cooler w/o that big plastic stock cover.
