Great story - I hope my dad gets back to working on his original '67 now that he retired a few weeks ago
The old car sat in the garage a good 25 years.
A ’67 Chevy Camaro, it was rusted out, dented up, and steely stiff in the joints, hobbled not only by years of sitting, but earlier years on the drag-racing circuit. It was the last car Ezra Murry raced, and it just sat in the garage of his home on Peoria’s south side.
He didn’t want to repair it, and he didn’t want to give it away, says his youngest son, Melvin.
Melvin Murry had inherited his father’s love of cars with a slight twist. “My dad loved making cars go fast, my passion is making them look good.”
