Clutch pedal does not go down

I decided to get my 1969 Camaro RS/SS out yesterday.I took it out for a short drive and noticed something.Clutch pedal does not go down all the way.I did check the adjustment,turned it an 1/8th of a turn and seems fine now.Works fine now,after another short drive.I know the next step,removing the transmission and checking the clutch.Clutch does not slip at all.I did check the fluid level in the transmission too,fluid level is good.I believe during the restoration,the original clutch was used over.I checked the paperwork during the restoration,said use the clutch over again.I am concerned and stumped right now.

I don't think You should really worry about it unless the clutch starts to slip. As long as the throw out bearing is not enguaged on the pressure plate with you foot off of the clutch,it will be good also. Make sure to tighten the jam nut on the linkage after adjusrment so it won't back off and not dis-enguage the cluch fully. IMO

I made sure the jam nut was tight.Jam nut was a little loose when I started the adjustment.My foot was off the pedal,the throw out bearing was not engaged at all.

You should also check the pivot for the actuator arm. It is possible it has started to back out which can change the throw distance... My GTO had a nasty habit of doing this until I red Locktite'd that SOB!

In fact I would go over the entire linkage to make sure nothing has changed its seating/orientation...

You are correct...I forgot about that one. My chevelle did that one time.

The linkage is brand new.The pivot for the acuator arm was a little loose too,loctited that.A friend of mine tried to talk me into going to a hydrualic set up and I said no way.I am keeping it the way it was built from the factory.
