I need help finding my car

Hello to all. As you can see, I'm brand new to the forum and need help. My pride and joy, a 2000 Camaro SS was stolen from my house 2 days ago. Does anyone have any tips on how to get a car like this back? I doubt it would go to a chop shop or place like that. I live in Fayetteville, AR Any help would be much appreciated.

You need to call the auto theft detective assigned to your case. He can give you the reality of % recovered. Even if it's not striped, you may not want it back due to the thieves tearing it up.

Thank you for the quick response CRF8. I appreciate you input. The law enforcement hasn't even come out to investigate. I live in a rural county with a sheriff's office who couldn't care less. They wouldn't even return my phone call concerning it. I want it back no matter what shape it is in because it is my 2nd most valued possession. I've now taken it upon myself to try to find it.

I would take whatever paperwork you have with the vin to the main office of the sheriff. If they refuse to take a report go to the state police. Someone needs to enter the vin as stolen in the system.

The VIN is supposed to be entered in, but the chances of someone with my car getting pulled over is pretty slim. There have been some cars around here stolen that ppl have found on the side of the road in Fayetteville just dumped off. If someone professionally got the car it is either in Tulsa or Little Rock with a new VIN waiting for the auction block. I don't know to get into that scene of buying hot cars.

Might want to check with DMV for issued parking summons, or the police impound lot. But reality is, for a 15 yo sports car, it's more likely to find pieces of it in a chop shop, in someone's restored vehicle or being offered on EBay rather than finding an intact vehicle.
