Unhappy Camaro Recall??

I just came from a car show today & one of the vette owners has a 5th Gen on order from the local dealer. He was told yesterday, (by the dealer), that there is a recall on the new Camaro already because two have cought fire. I told him I had not heard anything about this but wanted to post & find out if anyone might know. How about it Scott or Eric, anything to this?

Also, none of our five Chevy dealers in this area, (Terre Haute, IN), have received their V-6 dealer car yet.

Another friend ordered a 2SS from this same dealer on October 13th & he has a VIN but the car is still sitting in Canada. The dealer said they are having problems getting transports to bring the cars because GM is behind on payments.

My dealer said mine is suppose to go to production the second week of May but as of last Wednesday, Eric said mine was still showing 1100 status & I ordered on October 21st.

The lack of good communication from GM & the dealers is making people angry. Even if there is a problem, we need to be informed. I'm afraid the lack of info will cause some to start cancelling orders which could backfire on GM, cause more financial problems.

There are two Chevy dealers within 10 miles of me. One has already had 2 v6's with RS package on their lot and sold. the other had a 2SS loaded and sold. They are making their way to dealers, just taking their time I guess. Only thing I've heard so far is a problem with the car starter line to close to something and its shorting out but will be fixed in future productions.

Its a first year production car. There are going to be recalls and such, its to be expected with any first year production car. If you want it perfect out of the gate you may want to wait a year or two.
