Locking gas cap for Camaro?

Since it was mentioned in another thread that an internal release for the gas lid would have been handy but anyone can pop it open as it sits, it got me thinking...

Anyone know of a GM part number locking gas cap that would work? Not just for keeping the gas in the tank, but keeping the haters from dumping crap in there as well.

Do you really think people would do that? I hate to think anyone would but maybe I'm just naive.

The Camaro is 100 hp past its competition. The V6 is running with the top of the competition. In other words, if these cars are the whipped cream and the lower trims are the shake, the Camaro V6 is the cherry on top, and the Camaro SS is the person eating the whole ****ed thing.

Yes it happens. Happened to my Avalanche and it was a nightmare trying to get it fixed in the worst possible work week for me. I will be getting one when my SS arrives.

While it is a stretch, I would go with a locking cap before I went with the overpriced ugly locking door.

Keep in mind, as I stated earlier, the chances or random tampering are slim. A locking fuel cap is easily defeated and will only deter the random attempt.

No, but it causes the owner to go through the fuel filter(s) and fuel injectors. Not to mention down time.
