The good, the bad, and quitchure whining...

Hey All,

The good: I got the call from my dealer last Tuesday at 8:39AM that my *****in' cool Camaro had just pulled up on the transport. I asked him how it looked with the Cyber Gray stripes. "What stripes? You ordered the stripes? Oh, that's a dealer installed item and we'll have to send it somewhere to get them put on."

What? I ordered factory installed stripes. Hmmmmm. Oh well, I want my car, it's a big deal, but not a big deal at the same time. Try to figure out how to get over to pick up car and drop off truck. Person who can assist me (my Mom) is in Alaska. :sigh:

Go to job site to work on some computer stuff. Dwell on stripes. Call salesman back to arrange to have stripes installed before picking up car. I can wait. I'm not happy, but I can wait.

"Oh, they're on the car! I just didn't see them when I first looked. I was going to let it be a surprise when you got here."

Score!!! That's exactly what I was looking for!

Get call from Boss. Come by office before picking up car. Okay, no problem. Gut feeling is telling me something is going on.....

1:30PM - Get notified that I've lost my job . Well s**t.... Just bought a new house, about to buy new car...... I did about 5 minutes of soul searching about what to do with car.

4:50PM - Decide "screw it, I've waited too long for this, I have a contingency plan just in case this happened" Drive to Hammond, and pick up car

I have about 21 days left on the job, everything has been a whirlwind since picking up the car, so I haven't had a chance to throw together my resume, but I'll be looking here pretty soon.

Took car by house of "retired" (at 41) co-worker to let them see and take a ride. They should be getting their 2SS/RS in a couple of weeks. They are impressed. His wife and I look like a couple of teenagers jumping up and down in their driveway. It was fun. Neighbor and his buddy come over to gawk. I have plans to buy a drool bucket to leave in trunk...... Was asked about the wheels. 20" I tell him. Then I turn to my friend and say to her "20" of pleasure...." We joke about turning Camaro into porn movie.....

For all of you still waiting for your cars, I'll repeat what a lot of other people have said - It's worth the wait!!!!!!!!! I know that makes it harder, but be paitient. It is so worth it

I've already scared two people, and the other four were very much impressed with the quality, ride, and acceleration of the car. It drives awesome and looks absolutely phenomenal. I was shaking when I saw it in the parking lot at the dealer.

Anyway, I'm off to eat some food. Thanks for listening, and you may resume your regularly scheduled programming.

I love my car!!: 2SS/RS/LS3/6-Speed/Imperial Blue Metallic/Gray Leather/Cyber Gray Stripes

I don't think I took a breath while reading the story, much how you must have been while typing it!! Glad to hear your excitement about getting the car after being in the waiting room, sorry to hear about the job loss though. I'm guessing by your demeanor that you will have no problems in finding a new job to continue the good life, that's confidence if I ever heard it

I share the same feeling as TX...It sucks that something so ****ty had to happen to you on a day that should have been one of the best in your life.

Fifty years from now, when you're looking back at your life, don't you want to be able to say you had the guts to get in the car?
