Launch Control Question

Getting ready to take my wife's LS-3 to the track and I'm not sure about the launch control feature. The manual says to enter Competitive Driving Mode, press the accelerator down, and the engine will reach a pre-determined RPM. It seems it is going to go to the top rev limit, it went over 6000 and I let off. What is it supposed to rev to on the launch? I'm OK with the moon if that's what it's supposed to be. Do you just mash it and let the clutch out?

Launch Control

Did you push your traction control button to put the car into launch mode?

Push it twice and you will see "Competition Mode" displayed in the information center as well as an "SC Off" Light on the Tach.

When you plant the accelorator the rpms should hold at 4000.

Launch Control

Put the car in Comp Mode. Tap the switch twice like stated above.
1. Be totally stopped.
2. Clutch fully depressed to floor.
3. Plant the gas pedal to the floor. (Don't be easy with it).
4. Release the clutch quickly, Don't dump it, And HANG ON.
