What are the short to mid-term price trends on the Camaro SS?

I'd like to get a 2010 Camaro 2SS. Yeah, shocking revelation around here.

I bought one of the first LS1s, preordered in 97, for invoice. I sure would like that again. Oh, and a Pony.

I hear of people paying dealers MSRP, and even over.

How long do you think this sort of thing will last? Is it a 2009 phenomenon, or do you expect it to spill deep into 2010?

Any realistic thoughts on the pricing progression on this car for the next year?

Thanks,
Matt

I personally don't see any "deals" coming our way. MSRP is going to be the average price people are going to be paying for a long time. The reason is simple: Supply and Demand. They can't supply enough 5th gens to keep up with the demand and people are paying MSRP for them.

I would NEVER suggest that you pay over MSRP because there are plenty of dealers out there that will sell them for MSRP.

That's my 2 cents.

Fifty years from now, when you're looking back at your life, don't you want to be able to say you had the guts to get in the car?

Welcome.

there are plenty of dealers NOT marking up over MSRP and honoring any discounts you qualify for. Check out the dealers who are site sponsors...no mark-ups there.

I see demand staying pretty high for a while (when the convertable come out, demand might drop a little on the coupes)...but the longer you wait, the more chances you'll have of getting it for less than MSRP and when demand falls off a little, Chevy might offer some incentives as well...BUT the MSRP might also increase a little as well, especially if they add more features/options on the car.

Prices are holding steady still. 2-3K above MSRP is commonplace.
MSRP is attainable, and has always been attainable at the right dealerships.
And that *might* become even more common in the winter months, but that's just a guess.

Prices will hold steady throughout the first model year for sure, and probably well past that.
We really won't see any discounts at all until GM puts incentives on it, and that's a long ways off methinks.

MSRP can be found. I would not even think about paying over MSRP. The only thing you get to haggle is the dealer fee in the southeast. Some were as little at $250 and other pushing near $1000. As I was searching, there were more Camaros sitting on the lots VS non at all. It was actually harder to find the V6 than the V8. Just keep searching, maybe you'll get lucky.

Get hold of Scotty, Anna, Eric or any of the other dealers on the site. They offer valid discounts as applicable (employee, supplier, credit union, military, etc.) or will sell at MSRP if you're not eligible for any bonafide discount.

Scotty says he's got allocations available NOW! So whenever you're ready...
