how many numbers in the vin are the production number?

how many numbers in the vin are the production number? i saw a thread somewhere stating that some of the last numbers in the vin are the production number.

this is correct...the last 5 #'s should be your production #. So if you're #50,000...the last 5 will be 50000.

Actually it is the last six digits of the vin that make up the production number. Characters numbers 12-17 of the 17 digit vin. So if your car was 50,000th off the line the vin would reflect 050000.

I'm sure they left room for the 100,000 +, just in case they produce that number in this first year

my last 6 digits are 155333. so i guess they are well over 100 grand already

ya, the last one we had come in off the truck was in the 56,000 range and that was a few weeks ago

415ci stroker,TVS 2300 Magnacharger, cnc heads, cam, yank ss3200 converter, Kooks long tubes, Bwoody true cold air kit, magnaflow 3" cat-back, lowering springs,BMR control arms and tie rod bars, 3.73 gears, diff mounts,

I thought I read somewhere that the pre-production numbers started with 0(00001) and the acutal production numbers started with 1(00001) So if your number is 156000 then you have car number 56,000. If production reaches over 99,999 this year it will be vin ending 200,000.

I might be incorrect on this but that is how I understood it.
