Front License Plate

Not sure if this is talked about but here in New York, the law states that we require the license plate on the back of the car and one on the front. These cars along with many other cars are not designed with this in mind.

So I did some searching around and found a petition to change this law.
If your in new york go ahead and give it a read and sign if you agree.

I signed it. Depending where in NY you are cops don't bother you too much. I haven't ran a front plate for about 3 years now. I have it in the car and on the dash when I'm not driving don't wanna get a ticket for it. I usually tell cops I don't wanna drill holes on my bumper.

But I just recently found the flip up license plate bracket from swiftmotorsport.com $60.

Texas requires one also but im not going to put one on.
Most people steal cars here in Texas and decide to remove the front plate so thats why they pull you over here in Texas if you dont have one.
Hundreads of Vettes run around without all the time.
I have never had one on any of my vehicles.

Good luck on yalls Petition

Online petitions do nothing but gather email addresses for other uses

I'd look for a nice bracket as mentioned above, I believe there was a member here making a nice one as well.

Some older cars you can get away with no front plate but for the most part u cant.. And no matter what.. If u park your car on the street the brownies with give you a ticket everytime.. Its just not worth the Pain in the A** it causes..

Didn't want mine on but the dealer beat me to it. It is actually a non-issue with me anymore. Don't spend any time hating it or otherwise.

I instructed my dealer the day before the car arrived to not put the front license plate bracket or a dealer sticker on the car and he said he would never dream of it.

Ohio requires the front plate and I have yet to get in trouble for it, but I've heard stories of cops pulling people over for it before so it's only a matter of time.

Fifty years from now, when you're looking back at your life, don't you want to be able to say you had the guts to get in the car?

Same here I told my dealer when I ordered it. Anyone here get pulled over for not having it yet? My town is usually pretty bad when it comes to little things like this, tint too. I just tried to make nice with every cop I see in town, give em a little wave let them know a local was in the car. (so far so good)

Front License Option

I drive my SS in ways that might encourage "attention", so I didn't want an extra fine for a missing my front plate. Here is what I did:

The picture shows that it doesn't touch the paint and I can take it off for showing with minimal effort.

Same thing here, told my salesman not to drill the front bumper no matter what...made him write onto the original bill! I live in NY and haven't been bothered yet but I've only had the car for a month. I work in NJ and cops there do give the cqr a second look but I think it's cause they like what they see.
