2011 release date?

Couldn't see any info below so I thought I'd ask. I'm looking at ordering a Camaro in January, but was wondering if better to wait until the 2011s are released. I was told the 2010's were relesed in Jan 2009, don't know if true.

I also thought if I ordered a 2010 in mid Jan, it may end up being built as a 2011 model given the delays. would this be possible?

From what I recall, fall '10 could be the 2011 release date. Ordering probably starting around late spring/summer '10. Remember that the '10 started production 6 months ahead of schedule in March '09. So right now if they had gone the typical route we'd just be receiving camaros right now, this day.

So assume that they're going to go the route of "July 4th shutdown, retool for '11" and then cars arriving in sept. or october.

I WILL SAY THIS: I AM JUST SPECULATING HERE BASING MY IDEAS ON WHAT I'VE SEEN IN PAST RELEASES! TAKE THIS WITH A GRAIN OF SALT!

Support MC.com peoples.. $9 bucks. Timmy needs to get that wheelchair into the 10s!

Zabo your logic makes sense, thanks for the answer! Its actually what I wanted to hear because I'm really looking for excuses to buy my new toy sooner rather than wait!

Hey Jekyll thanks for welcome. I've always been a Camaro-wanna-be but I've now reached the point in my life where I can just tell all others to pound salt its my turrn to be a big kid!

I'm wanting to wait for the '2011 model also - but it ain't easy. It does allow me to save up more cash though.

Production should change over to model year 2011 in June or July.
As stated, probably immediately following the brief summer shutdown.

Just an educated guess though, I have no official data to back this up.
