How do you to read the oil dipstick?

I did my first oil change yesterday. I checked the oil level this morning and the oil level mark is all the way up to the second set of x's on the dipstick. I'm just trying to figure out where the oil level mark is supposed to be. I read somewhere else online that a safe level is right below the second set of x's. Did I overfill?

6 quarts, I have the v6. I think I'm good, but I read this http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=44901
and got I bit worried. According to the info on the link, oil level should be on "C". Mine is between "A" and "B" closer to "A".

Not sure how accurate the info on the link is.

don't worry about it, as long as its not to far above the A then its ok. it don't need to be exactly on the C.
