Can't Match Synergy Green???

I went by the dealership to see Envy again yesterday. The paint job was supposed to be done by now, but they seem to be having trouble matching the synergy green metallic paint. First time a little too dark, second time too much gold metallic fleck, hopefully third time will be the charm...or three strikes and they're out. They have a paint specialist coming to help them mix it this time, so I'm hopeful that it will look better than this.

I have a friend that ownes a P&B Shop. I have seen some of the metallics have 6 alternate colors in a paint book.
What I mean by that is he would have a paint book with 7 squares that were all just a hair diffrent.

Granted that was just before they went to the Computerized Camers Systems, but now that camera has to pick from those same 7 vairations.

That is why they will get it really close and then blend it. That means to make light overlaping passes over the part next to the new part.

Patience Grasshopper sorry i couldn't help my self. I really do like the Green.

I'm sure they will get it right and you'll be happy.

I agree, patience. I can see how that would be a difficult color to match.

Is that a paint that requires a tinted clear coat?

If so they can be difficult to match. As pretty as some of those colors are I stay away from them for that reason. Hopefully, the "expert" can get it right.

Did you take it to a dealership? The paint codes should be the same, and the only variance should be how well they prime the plastic.

Of course I did, even though I had better estimates elsewhere. I didn't trust anyone else to match the SGM. I had the dealership that I bought my car from do the paint, but I purchased my car on 4/23 right off the truck and I was told it would take a couple of weeks for all the work to be completed. Now, it's been almost three months, and Grasshopper losing patience fast. I've never taken final delivery on this car, and I can't seem to get any real idea of when I can. Meanwhile, I'm making payments and I'm getting a little frustrated.

Don't get me wrong, my GM dealership has been good to me and I am grateful to have found my dealer, but sometimes I feel like we're all in way over our heads on this one.

What do you mean by saying you haven't taken final delivery yet? Haven't you had the car for several months (and have been making payments)?

Still legal in 16 states. It's happy. It's fun. It's Happy Fun Car.

Owned it...yes, signed papers on 4/23. Made payments...yes, two so far. Had it...not exactly. The modifications that I purchased, when I bought the car (paid cash for all of them) have never been completed, so GM has never actually released the car to me. I've had the car at home on 3 separate occasions for a total of eight days, and of course, I had a key at that time (and a lot of fun). Each time, though, it goes back to the dealership because all the work isn't done. At no other time, have I ever been in possession of a key to the car. I did not take the car home when I signed the papers and I have not taken final delivery, because all the work that I've paid for isn't done yet.

WOW!
I don't know what to say to that.

I've had mine for about 3 weeks and put 3600 miles on it.

When I said patience, I figured patience for a week or so.

I'm sure they are ready to get your car out of their hair, maybe they need a little incentive. Maybe a call from an attorney?

Hey, maybe SS-Eric (Classic Chevrolet) could hook you up.

Good Luck,
Ken

The only way to light a fire under them was to not make any payments. You are making payments and cannot drive the car and it is depreciating every day. Whether they "deliver" the car or not it is your car and they have really no incentive to get it to you any faster. You would have been better off buying it and then taking it to a specialty shop for the add ons. Sorry to hear about your situation.
