How I Spent My Saturday

so as some of you may recall i have been extactic for a couple weeks now that i found a localish dealer that was carrying my volant cold air intake for my car.

so i decided that today would be a fantastic day to do a 600kmish road trip down to get her

started off this morning still having to take the scenic route to hit the hiway cuz of the road construction that is still happening on my main access route. jumped onto the hiway around 10:30 this morning in front of one car not even paying attention to what was behind it, till low and behold this came out to say hi from behind the other car

beautiful silver SS. no idea who he was but we crused together for bout 50km or so before he pulled out past me

made it to davenport motorsports in calgary alberta around 1 this afternoon and got to meet an absolutely fantastic man by the name of steve (octaneman)

he took me for a tour through his shop. i could have spent many many hours in that shop just admiring all of the great vehicles in there

here's a supercharged SRT8 jeep

steve's twin turbo'd Z06

a local guy's supercharged SS that is getting a different cam installed to get rid of the VVT

loved his licence plate

steve's supercharged SS

a supercharged Z06

the other half of davenport's bay

welcome to alberta we eat cow, drill oil and rope calves

wants to push you down a flight of stairs to see if you are like a slinky or if you bounce like a ball... either way, I am quite sure I will be amused

so we tracked down my intake and i called up a buddy who lived just out of calgary and asked if i could swing by and use his tools. hahaha i was just a tad excited to install it

here's the before pic

my snazzy new intake

freshly installed

quick clean up of the engine compartment

after that we hung out and bs'd for a bit and he brought his beamer over for some poser shots

finally got on the road after that and wouldn't you know it i come up on a cobra mustang in the slow lane. i was already in the fast lane but as soon as i passed by him, i had a rear view full of cobra lol

kept him behind me till his exit came up and he took off in his exit

hope everyone enjoys the pics cuz i sure had a fantastic day seeing everything and taking all of them

Good thing you cleaned up that engine bay! I woulda had to drive all the way up there to do it myself! Don't forget the hoses and whatever else you can reach. LOL

Looks great, how does it drive?

And, good job keeping the competition at bay

i definately noticed a difference on the get up and go on the way home

there's some sound difference too at higher rpm's

i was hoping if the rain stays away long enough tomorrow that i can do a detail on the whole car, but that's not looking too promising
