Firebird goes airborn and slams into overpass...

It was a 3rd gen Firebird like the one I own
I have no clue how the driver survived. The car split into three pieces!!

Here's the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wr9TYdHzVIc

You can find the full screen video on youtube by searching 'firebird hits overpass'

That is amazing.

I've seen cars hit the center of a divided highway and go airborn, there just wasn't an overpass nearby.

Yikes. 19... I did plenty of stupid things in my cars at that age. Fortunately, nothing with that sort of ending.

Yeah...what are the odds that the overpass would be in that place at that time? It's like the kid was aiming for it intentionally.

Did the vehicle rotate in air? It looks like it started to rotate and hit he passenger side. So much dirt in the air it's hard to tell. Plus, I don't have speakers hooked up so I may have missed it in the actual report.

Any way to look at it, he's lucky to be alive.

Yes. The vehicle started to rotate in air and the bottom/passenger side of the vehicle slammed into the pillar. You can go to youtube and do full-screen mode to get a better look at the wreck.
