Need help again :(

Ok, for the second time, one of my neighbors many cats has decided to use my Camaro as a scratching post once its done sleeping on it. This scratch is plain thru my decal on the trunk I cant afford to have it fixed right now, but am really worried about rust. I bought touch up paint (believe it or not Toyota is the only color that matches). My brother in law says that rust will happen over night, I did not see any orange but for now until probrably next spring do you think it will be o.k?? I am debating on whether or not to have the stripes painted on next spring, because it would be easier to fix if (god forbid) this happens again. Decals are only sold in sets and are quite costly. ALSO, I sometimes get a grinding sound when I am backing up. Very infrequent, but do you think that the dealership would change my gears if they didnt hear this sound?? This car means the world to me and I just want it to be 100% o.k.. Thanks guys and gals

P.S.. I know I should shoot the cat, but I do have 1/2 a heart!!!

Garage
If you get them painted on the cat probably wont be able to scratch the stripes, because the the vinyl stripes are soft and the cat can get its claws into it.
Is that the only thing scratched on the car?
And i would recommend a car cover, it would keep it dry, it would stay much cleaner, and the cat probably wont scratch through it.

What color is your car that Toyota has the paint match?
It's not that unbelievable to me. GM and Toyota did some joint ventures and built cars together. (Chevy Prism, Toyota Corolla.. Pontiac Vibe, Toyota Matrix)

I discovered on accident that the interior gray panels are a match for my 2000 Camry which is "Antique Sage Pearl" or color code 1B2.

As for the cat, they hate "boundary" or any hot pepper type stuff. I once put insanity sauce in front of my parents porch to keep the strays from going under there.

A car cover is the solution in this case. Regarding the rust, while I'd get it touched up at least, you won't need to worry about any serious rust issues for some time.

Sounds like a good reason to ditch the vinyl
