Onstar for the android and iPhone

What is this onstar app for the android system??? I've heard bits and pieces of people talking about it but will it be available for the camaro. All I can find is they are saying that it will be available for the Volt in the fall.

Have y'all heard anything about this????

Or did I miss something on here about it.

GM today expanded its OnStar mobile apps to cover more cars than just the Chevy Volt. Both the Android and iOS apps for the brands will now monitor and sometimes control most 2011 model year Buick, Cadillac, Chevy and GMC vehicles. Drivers will have the option of remotely starting the car, unlocking it or triggering the horn; the approach can work over any Internet connection.

The service also provides diagnostics based on the last time the car was started. Owners can check metrics like fuel economy and the odometer reading but also traits that aren't always reported remotely, such as the level of fuel, tire pressure and the expected remaining useful lifetime of the oil. OnStar itself is logically given a quick-dial shortcut.

Both the Android and iOS apps on the market already have the features enabled, but the ability to use the features will be dictated by the availability of the cars themselves. More features are promised for Buick and GMC customers, but their apps are only due in coming months and will be detailed closer to when they go live.

I wonder if there is a way for the dealer to upgrade the system to work on the 2010 models. I'm curious if its a full replacement of the stereo/on-star system or if it'd be just a minor adjustment or addition in order to make them compatible.

You have to believe it's something as simple as a software update. That said, people with a manual tranny, who don't have remote start now, won't have it with this either.
