When ever i hit 118 a message pops up and says speed limited to 118. Does this happen to anyone else and is there a way to get rid of it?

If you dont have 20in wheels your car is limited to roughly 115. Those with the RS package and the 20in wheels are limited to 155. The only way to get rid of it I think is to tune it. But its probably not smart to be going that fast with the 18 and 19in wheels because the tires aren't rated for speeds over 115.

You'll still need to get the limiter "tuned" out to go over 118 if you are currently limited to 118.

I'm surprised by how many people feel the need to take their car over 118mph. Do you all live in Germany, or what?

Sorry but that does not make any sense at all. I have 19" wheels and hit 135 MPH and wasn't even close to red line. I was running out of straight away and backed it off. The RS or 20" tires has nothing to do with the speed limiter.
Where on earth did you hear that anyway. lol

"T" rated tires are only good for speeds up to 118 mph. "Z" rated (which is on the Camaro) are good for speeds up to 186 mph. If you want to confirm what I just stated, go to www.tirerack.com and see for yourself.

Just an FYI.

I know my SS has a speed checker in that is accessed through the vehicle options on the steering wheel....if the checker is set at 115 then it will flash the speed each time it hit that speed. You can raise it, lower it or turn it off through the options.
