believe they need a catagory for ls/lt/ss

On another site.....(C-5) they have this category which is most heavily visited for the site, here we have just general news on camaros, then sections about the engines and not a category for the ls/lt/rs/ss and I believe it would be the most popular viewed and posted forum even better with a more appropriate title... What do you all think? Here you have the v-6 and v-8 forums which is good, but yet takes off from what would be more of a interesting main forum with more recent posting having to go there rather than pigeon holed to separate sections. Also C-5 has a cover page where they have recent information with videos of course to attract people to the site and also spark discussion over other Chevrolet or club event sparking news. I think that would be a good idea for this site to have a cover page say with links to video and articles dealing with concept cars, the new corvettes, the new lt1, the new impala, new reviews of said g.m. cars, performance catalog g.m. link, etc etc and would be good to attract new people to this site as the first forum you go to here being a member is rather slow in postings and could use help to more spark interest and bring in new members who are interested in input to a site with more varied input and information in what should be its main forum....the ls/lt/rs/ss forum as not many of us can afford or drive a zl1 or will be getting a z28.

What do you all think?

As a person with satellite internet, I hate cover pages with video as they are such band hogs ... I like to have the option of opening a video vice it automatically starting a download ... just my 2 cents.

Might want to post in the site suggestions. However considering the site is owned by a large website ownership company, people here feel that changes cannot be made to the site easily. I agree adding certain sections the other site has would help this one immensely. It's not all about what C5 has but rather whats more user friendly that will make potential site member choose this site over C5. People here like to complain about C5, but have a hard time making this a better site than C5, or they just have their hands tied to where they can't due to site ownership, meaning the site can never truly grow to it's potential into something special. I was very disappointed when I learned that there was no direct owner or administrator who could make adjustments to the site & build the site because this site has a great basic layout & design that I much prefer to that of C5.

Would you or wouldn't you like to have the 5th gen technical information here that C5 has, and the quality content that comes with it which leads to more good members, more threads of posts, and more site sponsors? Or maybe this site does but most newb's can't navigate to it because it gets buried in with thread's of irrelevancy that have nothing to do with that very section of the forum because they weren't properly sorted in the first place, and it's all just a jumbled mess compared to what it should be by a good forum standard. This is what site suggestions are for.

Two wrongs don't make a right, or in other words you make yourself look as bad as the other guy by stooping to their level. Look a few times at the original question posted by ChristianChevelle, responses, and your response. How is that better than those you despise on the other site? Because IMO your response was exactly what the people you say you are against would write. Sorry but that's exactly how it comes across, and it's a little more of a theme here than what is proclaimed.

You can keep beating the long dead C5 hate horse, or rise above and forget C5 & put the time spent beating the dead horse into building this site to be something better.

I agree that this site could be a bit more user friendly with more organized sections. And all the bashing is getting a bit old. In truth we have a few members behaving in the exact same manner as is done over there. I've been seeing a lot of unnecessarily rude and unfriendly remarks from several members. And it is distasteful. Back to the site tho, I guess it was overlooked because there was a whole lot of traffic here. But now that there are more members and activity, I think it is best if the site was re-organized a bit. Maybe that will bring more sponsors also. And if everyone keeps their attitudes in check, then we won't have to worry about becoming like any other site. This is an interesting topic and I'm glad christianchevelle brought it up. Hopefully those in charge of the site are taking note. And thank you also BluePhoenix for your thoughts!!

Well put blue phoenix. I've posted this sentiment before. Some members here are so narrow-minded and unfriendly, they have become the very thing that they loathe.

I think any and all suggestions made are worthwhile, appreciated and taken into consideration. I'm pretty familiar with C5 and the section you are referring to is known there as...

5th Gen Camaro SS LS LT General Discussions (124 Viewing)

which is the same as this section here...

5th Generation Camaro News & General Discussion (65 Viewing)

and it is the most viewed forum on this site....just like the one on C5 is. I don't think changing the name slightly would change anything...but who knows...perhaps it could be separated??

And most of the other forums on C5 are here too...with the exception of the few I've listed below...

Mechanical Maintenance: Break-in / Oil & Fluids / Servicing (4 Viewing)

Cosmetics and Lighting Modification Discussions (54 Viewing)
It is known here as the Appearance Section.

Cosmetic Maintenance: Washing, Waxing, Detailing, Bodywork, Protection (20 Viewing)
I have asked to have this section added and if it is I will go through the 28 pages of the Appearance section and move the appropriate threads into it.

Garage / Tools Discussions
I just don't think we need this section...notice that no one was even viewing it on a busy site like C5.

General Automotive + Other Cars Discussion (30 Viewing)
Not sure that the traffic on this site warrants such a section...this stuff usually winds up in the MC Lounge.

I am definitely not trying to ignore or sweep any suggestions under the rug here. I responded in an effort to further the conversation...because no one wants to see MC succeed more than I do.

Thanks for the support Chapel & luds!

I agree with you Envy, I'm glad that the Appearence & Wash/Wax is possibly being properly separated, and yes I agree there are those sections you mentioned above that I don't think this site really needs, not at the moment anyway. I appreciate the work you put into this site, I know making the changes aren't simple in any situation.
