I have been wondering about this for awhile. Good thing you brought it up. My 92 RS Camaro I used to own back in college had a LSD as you wish to call it. It was embarrassing. I later traded it in for an 87 vette in which I later traded in with an 87 IROC-Z in which both had a Posi rear end. Wasn't so sure about the 11 LT2 I have now. I wonder if this is something that can be upgraded at a later time with a different rear such as "Posi"for a 6 cylinder?

haha i hear ya. I'm pretty sure those 1LE rear ends are a pretty penny, I read it on another thread on the site. Either way it is a practical upgrade

Can it actually be done? What would it actually cost for the parts needed? I'm sure gas mileage would suffer some?

the 1LE package from Chevy is about $1600 plus labor but I am pretty sure that wasn't gears ... I had a thread on the Suspension section for exact cost and a link to what it includes ... but, like I said, I don't think it was gears (I bumped it to the top)
