My New Radar Detector Mounting

I had a mirror mount which was great other than the fact that it would block your view, especially in a right turn. So for safety I decided to go this route. Hopefully it will work okay. I don't think it wil laffect performance too bad,

2012 1LS Silver Ice - Mods - SS Strut Brace, RX Catch Can, BBK CAI, TRS Bi-Xenon HID's, Blackout Grill, RX65 Radar Detector, 700watt 4 Channel Amp with Kicker Speakers, 4Pack Gauges Added, 30% tint. Baer Drilled Rotors & pads, 20" American Racing. Awesome car.

not as good as it was with the mirror mount,, it used to go up to about half on the scale on the K band when driving by a store with a electric door (about 4 bars).. now it only gets 1 bar. Still picks it up but not as easily.. It hasn't seen any real action yet though.

You know they are very helpful,, even though they say "well a laser is instant so your detector is worthless" not always because if you pick up the laser then you know not to speed in the first place or to slow down.

RX65 is a darn good detector, they say they can detect up to 5 miles out and I have experienced it picking up as far out as 1.5 miles.

Looks really clean. I know they advertise that it's VG2 undetectable, but I can tell you from experience it isn't. May not matter in your area.

I leave mine in the window still. It does get in the way sometimes, but I would rather have the functionality.

I have an Escort 8500 with blue display. I found a great mirror mount on Amazon.com and it puts the detector in the perfect spot to receive signal both front and rear.

Isn't it difficult to keep looking in the direction you placed your radar detector when you want to keep your eyes on the road?

I think this is working good,, it read a KA band out about 1.5 miles in front of me and saved me a possible ticket and it read out about 3/4 mile behind me as I passed the cop.
