Borla Vs. Magnaflow

Guys I am about to purchase an axel back exhaust upgrade for my V6 Camaro and have been listening to a lot of sound clips on youtube. I am of the opinion that Borla sounds a lot less "ricey" than Magnaflow does. I was wondering what your opinions are about these two companies and their products? Also, I found out that if I were to purchase the GM factory exhaust upgrade for my Camaro, I am not, but it is actually a Borla product. Does Chevy have a special relationship with Borla? Thanks!

Well, that all depends on your definition of "ricey" compared to someone else's.

I personally think Borla is a better company, just overall better name and better sounding products.

As for the GM Borla muffler, it's just like Mobile 1 and any other name brand. Whoever won the bidding war to have their name on the parts.

I have the V8, got the GM performance exhaust, which is Borla, and I like it a lot.

My SS had the GMPP axle-back on it when I got it. The car was otherwise stock. And I think it sounded really good. There are two types tho. I had the rounded mufflers. I don't think any of the axle-backs sound ricey tho. To me they all sound pretty good.

I have a magnaflow on my SS. I looked at all the options and chose the magnaflow because I have a convertible and wanted to be able to hear the radio or have a conversation without yelling. It has never sounded "Ricey" to me but I have no idea what a magnaflow on a v6 sounds like.
