Switching dealers for service

Does anybody know if I can switch dealers from where I bought my car to another for warranty work if i need it in the future? I'm asking cause the dealership I recently purchased my 2014 from I don't want there service center doing any repairs on my car and was wondering if I could just take it to any certified chevy dealer for the work when its time. Thanks in advance!

My Camaro is being serviced by the dealership where I bought it, but I bought a GMC Acadia in the fall, and I was the same way. The dealership I got it from does great on the sales, but their service area stinks. I have even heard their employees will not get their cars serviced there. The 2014 Acadia came with the 24 month 24k mile free service, and any authorized service center can do them for me. I also changed the service dealer on my Onstar, and for the follow up service reminders.

Yes. For warranty work you can take it to ANY Certified Chevrolet dealer.

Just make sure that when you switch dealers, you bring a copy of your service records. Sometimes dealers dont update their GM accessed database all the time so the new dealer may not have access to your up to date records electronically.

Agree with this 100%, but I always keep my copies of the work orders on any of my cars, so if I sell them later, all the service is documented.

You can have your warranty work and/or any other services performed at ANY Chevrolet dealership. There's no obligation on your part to return to the scene of the crime...lol...I mean the place of purchase.

For Onstar, just push the little blue button.

I'm sure there is somewhere on the app for you to update it.

Just to give you a little example:

Purchased 2008 Chevy Colorado at Chevy dealer. At 37K miles, in 2011, engine exploded. Took truck to GMC dealer. Replaced engine under warranty, in full AND gave me 2011 Buick Regal Turbo as loaner car.
