Header/tune question

So, i have stumbled across a few dollars, and im at a major dilemma right now. I have the option of picking up some Stainless power headers with a JRE tune to run with until i get dyno tuned, or I can pick up some kooks headers and run a canned tune until i can make it over to a tuner. Im not running the strip or anything just looking for a little upgrade. Which of the two evils would be the best way to go.

If i run the canned tune, will that eliminate the O2 sensor error that i would receive if i were to just run the headers with no tune? Please provide input.

Let me ask you this question before we can provide an answer.

Do you plan on doing any additional performance mods aside from headers?

in the future yes, but this will probably be in for a while, nothing too extreme in the near future maybe ported TB, i dont want to go too crazy as this is my DD and driveability would have to stay in line with that. CAI is already on the car.

ported throttle bottle does not require a new tune so you'll be fine there.

I personally would go with the stainless headers and dyno tune over the kooks and canned tune. Dyno tunes are more personalized for your drivability while canned tunes are just generic improvements.

Yea the SP headers are great quality. You won't be sorry for choosing them. But first, shop around. Check Ebay and the forum Vendors. If you contact some of them, they may match the price of SP or come very close. And also you should consider a custom email tune as opposed to a dyno tune. A custom email tune will cost less (probably by at least a couple hundred bucks) and they can get your tune spot on especially if you datalog and have them revise it. If you go with SP headers and a custom tune, you might have enough money left over for a ported TB (after core refund that is).
