Duel Mode Exhaust

hear all the time about removing the fuse for Duel mode exhaust.
What about just taking off and plugging the vacuum hoses to each side?
What would be the downfall in doing this?
Thanks

I'd rather just remove the fuse. I get very cautious when it comes to blocking vacuum hoses. I'd think it might trigger a CEL. I could be wrong.

You also should be able to get a remote that will open and close it. I had one on my vette that worked well. I think it was called a mild to wild switch.

I just want mine to stay open at all times.
They stayed open and ran fine when hose
had fallen off.
Surprised of how few are chiming in on plugging
vacuum instead of fuse pull.

I didnt chime in because I don't have a clue, but wouldn't a hose that has fallen off be the exact opposite of plugging one?

So I looked at the owners manual and it said the F8 fuse in the rear fuse block is for the exhaust flippers. I opened it and no fuse in the F8 position, I know I have dual mode as I saw the flaps when removing the stock mufflers. What's up with that?

You have as convertible I do not think they come with dual mode, unless someone installed it afterward I did not think it would fit except for a zl1? You may have aftermarket four tips.... heres a 1le on its side

got two tips, I had the stock mufflers cut ou and replaced with straight pipes, saw the exhaust flaps just behind the resonators. definitely can tell the difference when they open with no mufflers.
