How to deal with hard water spots on dark color Camaro?

This probably not the correct section for this thread but here goes anyway.

I havent owned a dark colored car of any kind in over 10 years.

I live in South Florida and most people that live in Florida have this same problem with well water which is hard water.

How do you deal with hard water spots or even better how do you keep them from happening?

I know a person can purchasing those expensive filters and all that but Im not up to spending $400 for a system...

A good polish, and then dry it when you wash it before the spots appear. I use Maguires Quick Detailer to get the spots that dried before I could get to them. Takes the white ring away.

I just tried a mixture of white vinegar and distilled water mixed 1:1, put it in a spray bottle and tried some areas that still had water spots. One quick wipe and the spots have disappeared!

Some good hints in this thread (some additions we will have to try) ... we also have hard water even going through a softening system ... I think the best thing to do is wash out of the hard sun ... shade if possible ... morning early, if possible ... keep wetting the entire car (a lot) ... then dry as fast as possible ... if you have two people, one with the leaf blower (do you even have those in Florida ) and one with the chamois. If one person, I think I tend to go leaf blower for a quick run and then chamois. And I didn't lose internet yet.
