Nobody is making programmers for the LFX yet?

can't find any programmers for 2012 v6 Camaro, just want to turn my speed limiter off, speed shops cant do it, dealership says they can't do it, already got the upgraded tires, just cant find a programmer.

I actually talked to 1 person at the dealership who told they could do it for $50,, so they probably can do it, but I guess I need to ask in person with every there in service there.

2012 1LS Silver Ice - Mods - SS Strut Brace, RX Catch Can, BBK CAI, TRS Bi-Xenon HID's, Blackout Grill, RX65 Radar Detector, 700watt 4 Channel Amp with Kicker Speakers, 4Pack Gauges Added, 30% tint. Baer Drilled Rotors & pads, 20" American Racing. Awesome car.

Any shop with HP tuners, or EFI life can tune the LFX engine (including turning off the speed limited)... Your powertrain warranty will most likely be void if you do this though.

that's good to know, thanks,, I'm going to try to get the dealer to do it, I don't think a simple speed limiter delete should void warranty since the rs cars come that way anyway.

The dealer will not do it.

wham bam!! yep the dealer wont touch it,, but I did find a local shop that will do it for $175, they say they have to buy credits for $100 & charge $75 for labor, not sure what that means but $175 is cheaper than buying a user level programmer which aren't even available yet.. lets get-er-dun,,,

HP Tuners and EFI Live work on a "credit" system... They have to buy the "credits" to "license" your car to be able to tune it. It's pretty standard. The credit thing is a one time deal if you go back to the shop you used in the future to get tuned for additional modifications you should not have to pay the "credit" fee again.

Like mentioned, piece of cake to do in HPTuners, but can void your powertrain warranty.

A shame the shop owns the "Credits". Those should belong to the car owner and be carried to whatever tuner he wants to use.

The credits sit in the interface of the HPTuners. Not on a computer, not in their hands, but in the little black box that connects the car to the computer.
