Sad day at Chevrolet

Ordered a 2014 SS2 convertible on March 29,2014, Car was built 6 weeks later on May 5. It is two weeks later and there is not a sole at Chevrolet that knows where the car is,or a wild guess when it will be delivered to Virginia. I was told the transport trains sold off their rolling stock in 2008 and there is a shortage of shipping trains cars.
The build order is here, the VIN has been assigned and the dealer has the invoice. UPS and the post office can track packages to the day but Chevrolet doesn't know where a 5000 lb car is that cost $45K.
Chevrolet.com adds no intelligence to the question. Sad day at Chevrolet !!!!
With the 2015's almost here ready to call it quits !!!!!!

it's only been 2 weeks and it's spring, I'm sure everyone is buying cars now,, , where are these cars built? I'm sure some one there can track it, they're just not used to having people call them up.. Patience..

Patience? He ordered a 45k car. He said they can't track it. If I'm not mistaken they do have people calling them daily asking the same questions. I've read threads and sales people brag about being able to track your car while being built. That is pretty sad to me. Payments will be coming before he sees the car

Exactly. I waited 4 months for mine back in 09!!

OP, you need to remember that the trains don't leave until they are FULL. This delayed my shipment 2 weeks.... Not sure if things are the same, but once the car is delivered to the train yard for shipping, they can't track it any further until it is on a truck for delivery to your dealer....

God, I hope the cars aren't up to 5000lbs now!!

Mine sat in Oshawa for another week to get stripes installed. People who had cars built after mine got them before me. Ah well.

I remember ordering it in May of 2009 and getting it in September.

Thank you all for your input. Tried Chevrolet customer service with the order number and a very nice, off shore lady, checked with her "specialist" and came up empty handed.
I will take all of your advise and learn to have Patience as in good time is should come.
In the mean time if you Canadians see a red 2014 driving around lost please send it our way !!!! LOL

blueridge,

Congrats on your Camaro order, but I apologize for any confusion caused by the tracking of your vehicle. While I'm unable to guarantee I'll have the exact information you're seeking, I'd have no problem researching this further if you send me a private message.
