Looking for a bit more HP...

Guys I have a 2LS that I have already added a cold air intake and Borla axel back exhaust to. I was wondering what other things I can do to get a bit more horsepower out of my V6 short of a turbo or NOS! I am not looking for burst speed necessarily, but something that will ensure I can run with or away from the smaller, lighter V6's like the EVO's, Cobalt SS's, Genesis coupe's, 370 Z's, Maxima's and whatnot.

2012 V6 IOM./ Borla axel back exhaust/ K&N Cold Air Intake/ 18" TSW Matte Black Mugello wheels, 35 % Tinting, Matte Black Rally Stripes, Matte Black Fade Gill Stripes, Matte Black Fender Hash Stripes, Tail Light and Side Marker Black Outs and Solid Black Bowties!

I don't worry about keeping up with those cars, Camaro is a nicer car, it's heavier, quieter, & rides better, & looks better.. those cars are built lightweight but that has it's downside, they rattle, buzz, have lots of wind noise or they are a lot more expensive than the v6 Camaro..

I don't think there are any mods that are going to make a significant difference.. probably really weight wheels would help the most.

if you really want to though why not get that SS you want? It's only money and you only live once.

I do the same **** thing with motorcycles. more bang for your buck.

2012 1LS Silver Ice - Mods - SS Strut Brace, RX Catch Can, BBK CAI, TRS Bi-Xenon HID's, Blackout Grill, RX65 Radar Detector, 700watt 4 Channel Amp with Kicker Speakers, 4Pack Gauges Added, 30% tint. Baer Drilled Rotors & pads, 20" American Racing. Awesome car.

First two mods are the best right now.

CAI.

And the Vmax Ported TB:

| VMAX CNC Ported LFX V6 Throttle Body

Your exhaust is next. Anywhere from $400-1200 is what your going to pay. You'll gain a little HP and Torq. but the exhaust mod is many for sound.

Beyond that is get expensive. Forced Induction...IE Super charger or Twin Turbo's will run you around 6-8K.

Happy modding!

Oh man, you got a tough list of cars you're looking to keep up with. The Evo is a mid 13, the 370 is a low 13. The Genesis isn't much last I checked. Neither is the Cobalt SS. The Maxima I'm not sure about. A Taurus SHO will get you and so will the G8 GXP. The V6 Camaro is a mid to low 14 sec. So you would need to drop a sec to play with those guys if they are stock. A big problem is the weight. Curious, do you have one of the Camaros that can't have headers installed? What year is your Camaro?

One of the biggest issues is that you want to run a base model against the top-models of their cars lol

It looks like a 2012 2LS, he has the LFX engine and an automatic with that gearing. I would say if possible, look into a rear-end swap. 1-wheel peel and your gears prevent some acceleration.

As one of the responders mentioned about the cost and pricing, I think it will be helpful if you mention whether you are under budgetary restrains or no. How much budget do you have or want to spend, so people can give advice accordingly. Thank you.

but should be for those tiny upgrades vs the bit higher ones.. as most can't afford to do big/huge MOD's +

Agreed. Why dump $$$$ chasing a dream, when you can just trade up? You'll have less money spent, and you'll have the real deal.

...just be careful. A V8 Camaro can be a handful of scary if you don't respect the power.
