My 2015 Camaro (purchased used) only came with one fob and a separate key. The fob is in really bad shape and I want to replace it. Can a new fob be programmed without a key. Don't need a key, just a fob. Thanx.
Insert Existing Key
INSERT a working flip key into the Ignition and TURN to the ON/RUN position (just shy of cranking engine).
Wait for the security light to go out.
Remove Key
TURN the flip key to the OFF/LOCK position and REMOVE it.
Insert NEW Key
WITHIN 5 seconds, INSERT the NEW flip key into the Ignition and TURN to the ON/RUN position. The security light will turn OFF to indicate successful programming
of the flip key.
DIC will indicate # of keys programmed.
If you hit nine (9) that is as far as you can go.
Exit Programming Mode
REMOVE the key from the Ignition to finalize programming and EXIT Programming Mode.
Program Additional Remotes
REPEAT Steps 1-4 for each additional key to be programmed.
Test Remotes
