Neither.....they're both snake oil, IMO.

yeah, probably not worth the money. Is it me, or do all dealers just make up their own names for "undercoating".

Maybe worth it if you don't have a garage to keep it in, live in Minnesota and plan on driving it all year long...than I'd say, what the hell, it's probably only $500.

2010-2SS/RS/LS3/IBM/RP6: ECS-Paxton Supercharger / American Racing Headers & Exhaust / PFADT Suspension / DSS 9" 4.10 Rear / FOR SALE!

rust proofing isnt really needed anymore the metals used are galvanized they just dont rust like the used to.....undercoating is nice for sound dampening though.

From the Chevrolet FAQ page (http://www.chevrolet.com/warranty/fr...d-questions/):

"Is my vehicle covered from rust, too?

GM vehicles are designed and built to resist corrosion. All Chevrolet body and sheet metal components have a limited warranty against rust-through corrosion for 6-year/100,000 miles (whichever comes first). Application of additional rust-inhibiting materials is not required under the corrosion coverage and none is recommended. See your GM dealer/retailer for terms of this limited warranty."

Most dealer "add ons" are just that. They want to bulk up the profit margin.

Looks like weland has the best answer.
