So far this year, information about the Chevy Malibu sedan, Dodge Viper sports car, the Lincoln MKR concept and the Chevy Camaro convertible has leaked out early on the Web and in car magazines.
How is this any different then any other year?

If they want to keep a lid on it, then kep a lid on it.

Have an appointed day and time when official media materials are released. No more honor system. Bar the ones from the obtaining media packets that have demonstrated they have no honor.

Will never happen because the print media would whine to high heaven about becoming irrelevant since the interweb publishes instant and it takes Car and Driver 2.5 months to go from editors to newsstands.

But the point they are missing is that they are pretty much already irrelevant in terms of cutting edge info. There is still a great role for magazines but breaking news isn't it.

They have specific embargo dates to follow, but they choose not to.

Yeah, the only real way it will end is by just not giving them advance notice.
