General Motors to cut 10,000 salaried jobs

General Motors announced this morning it is cutting its worldwide salaried workforce by 10,000 and temporarily reducing most of its U.S. white-collar workers' pay.

I started hearing about some additional incentives that will hopefully go into effect for home buyers. Basically a $15000 tax break. Fingers crossed on my end since I'll be buying a house this summer. Honestly I think GM laying off employees is there only choice at this time. I mean you can't have have your cake and eat it too, GM has fallen on hard times and they have to do what they have to do to survive.

hmm..

people are not buying cars because they are worried they might not have a job..

..but when GM puts out info like this they make the whole situation worse..

I saw that story on Monday and was wondering which 10000 salaried positions will be affected. Is it the high-level or the minions....I'm betting on the latter of the two. Also, this cut was a direct result of accepting the bail-out from the government.
