Instead of putting the diesel engines in the little A3 or the Q7 SUV, how about Audi thinking about the A4 models....you know the ones they sell the most of. That would bring price down and allow them to sell without charging a premium.
I'd still like to see GM come out with a 60-75 MPG econo diesel or a 35-40mpg regular sized diesel powered sedan.
My parents owned 2 diesel powered Ford Escorts back in the 80s. They would knock down 50mpg on the highway all day long.
The big problem with small diesels are that they're daaaamn ssssssslllllooooooowwwwww.
And how GM's reputation is..if someone got one and it was just as slow..it would be all over the news and everyone would bash the hell out of them.
Despite everyone else's being just as slow.
diesels really aren't that bad.. maybe it's cause i'm a farmboy who'se used to the ruckus a diesel makes, but my buddy has a vw jetta tdi with 200k miles.. still felt good driving, lots of fun in fact, and that's all that really matters when it comes down to it.
