i love the double speak:

" “We have not come across any case in which we have found a malfunction,” Sasaki said in an interview in Japan. “But if any additional reports arise, we will conduct testing using all technology at our disposal.” "

"President Jim Lentz said: “We have launched a comprehensive plan to permanently fix the vehicles we've recalled because in rare instances, accelerator pedals can, over time, become slow to release or get stuck. We know what's causing this and what we have to do to fix it.” "

Well, I guess we have to wait and see it Toyota is hiding anything or not...

If it is electronic errors, I believe thats much worse than just crappy parts...

if your replacing a metal part why do you have to reformat the computer???

Yeah..I had to deal with a rabid Import fanboi on facebook..he kept trying to pass the blame onto the supplier, too. Then posted a link to a preliminary investigation the NHTSA is doing on the Cobalt electric steering to try to show that GM is low quality or some crap like that. I eventually just told him off and removed him from my friend list.
I have a very low stupidity threshold.

DO NOT walk in front of a Toyota. If you are crossing the street and a Toyota driver lets you cross, just wait it out
Seriously though if it happens in a close space like a parking lot there will not be much you can do about it. So watch out for your kids especially.

Really? Toyota says they don't have an electronic issue?
I heard one report on TV that said Toyota says there is no electronic problem, but they are working to find a solution to fix the electronic problem as soon and they can.

There was an ABC report where the guy drove it to the dealer and the pedal was not depressed, but the car was wide open. He put it in N and D all the way to the dealer and had the service manager on the phone, pulled up and got out and the throttle was still wide open.

So not only is the pedal badly designed to where it can catch objects on the floor or get sticky and not want to come back up, but they also have an electronic malfuction causing inintended acceleration. That is 3 seperate issues causing the same problem and they have denied each one of them until they could no longer deny them and then they appologized for them and then lied about it to the press about the investigation and then still denied them again.
