U.S. slams Japan's latest 'clunkers' plan

The Obama administration criticized the Japanese government today for allowing just a few U.S. vehicles to take part in its "cash for clunkers" program.

If the US had any sense, they would have done the same for the US CFC program and only allowed US cars to qualify.

Thats the way c4c should have been any vehicle to purchase a new Chrysler, Ford, or GM.

It only makes sense that if the goverment is paying for stuff that it be products from the country that the goverment is from.

I mean could you see the goverment buying a bunch of japanese cars for the police department to use? Why would they invest in another contries products? I could see them using them if they are seized cars, but not new ones.
